We had one here in the UK, and after a few days of the local authority wondering what to do, the smell was awful. Here, the local councils own the beach, but only up to the high water mark. The bit between high and low water belongs to the Crown. They need permission to remove it as technically, it belongs to the King!

Interesting story so does the King decides what happens to a beached whale then? or they just leave it?
