When I bought the HD100 I was curious to see how much the wide angle conversion lens was, and this is no joke but they said it costs about US$8,000 is that true!? Fair enough it would be about a grand but 8?
has anybody used it? any feedback?

They've quoted you the 13x lens. The adapter is another animal.

Right, two totally separate things. You said "conversion lens", so presumably you're talking about the wide-angle adapter that fits onto the front of the stock lens, right? That's what Stephen pointed you to.
The $8,000 item would be for the optiona 13x zoom lens, a replacement for the stock lens. And actually, $8,000 sounds pretty darn cheap for that particular lens, since it carries a retail price of $11,995. Not saying that $8,000 is "cheap", of course, but for a $12,000 item to be offered at $8,000 is quite a discount.

yeah they do good discounts
im in japan btw and I converted the price to US dollars...I guess they misinterpretted what i said then...yeah the adapter is only a couple of hundreds of dollars yeah?
