Hey dvinfo'ers--Just wanted to let everyone know that my feature doc, "Clear Cut: The Story of Philomath, Oregon" has been selected to play in the 2006 Sundance Film Festival. You can find more info on the movie and check out the trailer here:

www.clearcutmovie.com

If any of you plan on making it out to Sundance this year be sure to come see "Clear Cut" in all its miniDV (shot with DVX100 and 100A) color corrected and uprezzed to HDCam glory :) Maybe we can have a Dvinfo meet and greet at the fest as well. THanks!

Excellent Peter,
Trailer looks good. I'm interested in the story now too. Read the bio. Looking good, and socially conscious. Good mix. Hope it does good things for you.

Congratulations Peter. That's great. Is this a DVInfo first? I don't remember anyone else in here mentioning they made to Sundance.

Five months into my first "real" documentary project I'm beginning to get a sense of just how much work it takes to finish one, not to mention getting it into Sundance. Congratuations, Peter. I hope to see the whole thing some day.

Thanks guys! David: Don't feel too bad--took me 2 years to finish my doc, so you're just getting started :) I will be sure to keep everyone posted on Sundance, and to let you know when you can check out the film someday.

I wonder if Chris could set up a blog or something so you could give us a running account during the festival itself (assuming you want to, of course)? This is a unique opportunity. I hope a way could be found to take full advantage of it. I'm sure lots of people in here would love to hear about your experiences. You're living the dream dude!

i went to grad school at the university of oregon and never got used to the visual shock of clear-cutting.. in colorado, mining operations sometimes have a similar impact. in climax, CO you can see a moutain just being slowly dismantled, taken apart, by mining. both are heart-breaking sights. poor planet.

good luck with your film. i hope it has a deep impact.

I like the blog idea Marco. I think Sundance may be providing a way for filmmakers to do this through their website, or another company, bside.com, may be doing this. If either of those options happen, I'll post a link to the blog in this forum (as a new thread). If not, and if Chris wants to host a blog somehow through DVinfo, I could post there as well--I could also link to it from the website for the film. I guess we'll wait for Chris to chime in with his thoughts.
