Boy is this a useful free utility:

It splits M2T files by timecode. It works really well.

Yes, very cool. Thanks for the post. The author mentions m2t splitting on his TODO list.

Speaking of splitting m2t files, can anyone recommend a reliable splitter? I'm a Vegas7 user and read that the Main Concept MPEG Splitter is the only one that works properly. While I don't understand why, I'd like to find out. Apparently, this MPEG splitter was bundled with Vegas6. As luck would have it, I didn't really value this software when it showed up with my Z1 rebate package (two batteries + tapes + Vegas6). I may still have the disk somewhere in those boxes ...

I found the Sony MPEG2-TS splitter, but apparently, this just works with Windows Media Player as a plug in to split the audio and video into separate bitstreams.
