I've just joined this forum - actually, I'm quite happy having found it and already have a question;

How does one do interval recording in the GS400. Interval as in for example, 1 second shoot every 5 minutes. I cannoy find anything about this anywhere.

I don't think that feature exist for gs400. But if I am wrong, I will be very happy. ;-)

No time-lapse on any of the GS series cams. There are ways to shoot continuously, then only capture one frame per x frames. This is no where near as good as an interval feature, but it works nonetheless. I've shot 30 minutes of footage, then used Scenalyzer to capture one frame per 30 frames (speeding it up 30x faster than real time).

I made interval recording with GS400.
It's possible with using any computer or notebook with IEEE1394 port. I used Scenalayzer programm for interval shooting and I recorded during sunset and getting dark. Many hours recording lasts less the minute on video. It's good idea to remove cassete (for preventing auto switching off) and using manual focus during recording (for preventing focus lost in darkness).

Good suggestion Mikhail! I did something similar years ago with an older Panasonic MiniDV cam. I recorded myself while sleeping a whole night long with an IR light on the cam. Looked pretty cool caturing at 1 frame every 4 seconds. For in-field recording probably a laptop would be a good suggestion.
