Check this out.

Q. Has anyone used this item?

Q. Is it worth the money?

Q. Is there a site where I can see the dif between standard and this config?

If they are cool I will buy 3 for my XL-1S's.

I shoot interviews with WWII veterans. Will this unit improve anything?

Also....Will the 4X4 Chrosziel work with this thing?

I haven't used the XL adapter but i am using the one for my PD100 and that works great. Great value for the money.

Chris Hurd might have had a little experience with these. I think he mentioned them in a prior post. He's headed to MacWorld now, but hopefully he'll pop in, in a day or two.

I had some communication with Don Berube about this lens, and basically he told me that he felt the lens was too heavy, and limited in it's use.

He suggested to wait untill NAB - which is where he suspects Century Optics will announce their anamorphic adapter for the XL--1s which will be a totally different concept, and will allow for complete zoomthrough (including the wide end of the lens).

No rumour, apparently Don has seen the prototypes.

It's also supposed to come in a bit less pricey then the Optex adapter.

Just repeating what Don told me, but I know I'll wait untill I see what Century has up it's sleeve :-)
