I know this may be a dumb question but here it goes. I have a shoot coming up for a overseas client that requires all footage to be in PAL. It's cheaper for me (hidden cost of course) to simply buy a PAL XL1S body rather then rent a PAL camera. Can anyone tell me for certain if I can simply buy a PAL XL1S body and use it with my existing Canon XL1S lenses (16X, 3X, & 16XM)??? I'm getting two different answers here and I can't imagine there would be a problem and would think this would work. Anyone know for sure?

Definitely not a stupid question (there is no such thing here). Rest assured that your lenses will definitely work with a PAL body. There is no difference; they're all the same. Hope this helps,

The viewfinder doesn't work if I'm not mistaken.
I'm not positive of this but I thought I would post it so that someone who is positive might chime in.

I know for certain that the FU-1000 Black/White CRT viewfinder is either PAL or NTSC, but never both. I think the standard LCD viewfinder might be multistandard, but I'm not completely sure. You'll find that on the CRT viewfinder the specs always list PAL or NTSC, but on the LCD viewfinder I never see those specs.
