View Full Version : Shooting Yoga Video Question

I'm going to shoot a yoga video for my daughter-in-law. This is our first attempt at something like this.

I've been watching other videos to get a sense of how they are shot, and I'm not sure if two cameras or one camera were used.

Most of them start with a front shot of the instructor, then dissovle to a side view of the same pose.

I only have one camera, and I was thinking a working solution might be to shoot one series of moves from the front, then have her turn the mat (and herself) sideways to the camera, and shoot the same moves from the side.

This way the background will remain the same, and so will the distance from the subject, and I can make the cuts later in FCP.

Does that make sense?

Thanks.

Steve,
I would definitely recommend using at least 2 cameras for variety and saving time. If your talent knows their sets very well I guess you could do it several times for different angles and maintain continuity. Check out the thread and/or link below that demonstrates what your wanting to accomplish.

Thanks for the links. That's the kind of thing I'm after.

Two cameras would certainly simplify things a great deal.

I can get access to another camera, but it's a Sony TVR27 (not that there is anything wrong with that camera - Sienfeld), and I'll be using a Canon GL2.

Would the difference between the 1CCD, and 3CCD be that noticeable?

If the CCD difference is too dramatic, I'll just have to work with what the budget allows.
