I need to digitize and encode TEN to TWENTY 15-minute videos a day. For the next several months. Then I will have to upload to the net for streaming.

Is there equipment available to digitize multiple VCR videos? How can I encode more than one video at a time?

I don't know of any products off the shelf that will do this. Perhaps
it might be interesting to look at special companies that can do
such things for you much more efficient than you'll ever can?

Otherwise than that it will just be a lot of work (I think it will
be a lot of work any way you go with it...)

Get Cleaner 6 by discreet (www.discreet.com/products/cleaner) which can upload to a streaming server or host as it finishes encoding files. Handles most popular formats/encoding schemes. That will help with your second step.

The first step, doing batch digitizing from VCRs, is another issue -- I don't know of any product either. You may be stuck doing it one at a time.

Buy a bunch of iBooks with FCP and a bunch of VCR's and converters (if necessary) and just go down the line. OR...take it to a production house that is set up to do this.

Hi,

You may want to have a look at these encoding cards, if you have the money, you could save a lot of hours and obtain better results (no lost frames + encoding in several media (QT, windows media player, etc) and at several speed (56k, DSL, high speed), at the same time.

hope this is of any help...
