I know that one DVD transcode workflow you have recommended is to place the 1080i CFHD on a SD timeline, downsize to 720x480, reverse fields, and transcode to m2v.
I'm finding (I think) a better result by editing in 1080i CFHD, exporting the movie as 1080i CFHD, and using Procoder 2 to convert the finished 1080i CFHD directly to SD m2v, importing into Encore and authoring.
I would be interested in any further comments you might have on this topic.
