Hi,

Anyone knows how can I export my footage back to tape (in HDV) after I finish editing it? I MUST have a copy of all my work on tape for the clients, festivals, broadcast, etc. I know it shouldn't be done but I'm using my FX1 as a VCR to make my master copies (the other copies I make elsewhere). I tried "export to tape", I tried playing it on the timeline after rendering, I tried exporting the final file and then playing it...and even though it says "HDVin" on the FX1s' LCD, no image apears (I tried its' VCR on HDV, DV and AUTO). There's gotta be a way to do it.

I don't know about the all the settings on the camera, but I was having a similiar problem outputting to the Sony HDV deck. I ended up having to manually setting the deck to HDV input. It was on auto and defaulting to DV. Maybe the camera is doing the same thing?

I tried that too. I tried setting it to HDV, Auto and I even tried DV just to see what happened. But no dice. :-(
