My school has serveral older JVC monitors that no one uses. They have S-video inputs on them, so i was wondering if i could hook up one of these monitors through the s-video out on my graphics card? Or do i need a capture card or other hardware to make this work? (editing on premeire pro1.5)

I have both- a Canopus DV Storm with S video out, and a video card with S video in and out. I have everything running through a video swithcher, so I can choose which source goes to the monitor. The vid card does good playing back some things, but the Canopus offers a live monitor for my NLE, which the vid card doesn't.

I guess your answer is maybe? Try it and find out if it works out without having to get the capture card.
