I'm considering a move from DV to HDV, but really enjoy the progressive frame mode on my DVX-100A for sports events, usually at 30 FPS. Does anyone have much experience deinterlacing 1080i to 1080p ?

Graham Hickling April 6th, 2006, 06:30 PM Well its easy and reasonably quick to do in software, and I think the output can look surprisingly good. This post refers to deinterlacing to 720p60, but you could get to 1080p60 instead by tweaking the third line of the avisynth script: http://www.dvinfo.net/conf/showthread.php?t=63568 Presently I go to 720p60 because I have an HC1 which has a "true" resoloution of only 1440x1080, plus 720p60 is at present more readily playable on a range of PCs and my Linkplayer than is 1080p60. (Oh and .... the same basic techniqe can provide 1080p30, in which case LeakKernelDeint is used instead of LeakKernelBob) Mark Donnell April 7th, 2006, 11:04 AM Thanks Graham - that was very helpful. |
