I'm in the market for a new "on camera" light for my HD100 - What seems to be the consensus on the best light - especially if it can be powered by the IDX system?

I'm a fan of the Bebob stuff. They make great tools, perfect for it's usage.
The light I'm using is the 'Lux'

It has a dimmable light, can be attched on the camera or microphone stand, has flaps and color correction filters.

I'm using the IDX X3 light. It is pretty nice. It runs off the IDX battery and it's 3 LED's instead of real light bulbs. It can get very bright and it has a dimmer knob. You have to raise you color temp. to around 5600K unless you want your subjects to look blue. Remember to white balance.

My complaint is the cost. $350 for a plastic light. At least they could have used metal housings!

Scott - have you tested the difference in IDX battery time when using the IDX light?

I like the LightPanels brand of light myself.

We're using Lite Panels too. Very happy with them.... the X3, Lux seems like nice products though; I guess its personal taste. Good luck. :)

I'll fourth that on the Lite Panels, they are VERY bright and well built. In fact we purchased two and only have a need for one, *hint* *hint* in case you are looking for a new one at a used price.

Anyone tried using it with the IDX battery promo kit yet? I have plugged one of ours in just to be sure it works with it but have never run it long enough to see what it does to the battery life. We bought the Lite Panel battery pack but it would be good to know how the IDX does with it in case we run the pack down.

Daniel, I'll take the hint - if you want to unload one let me know.
