Hey guys,

My friend Scott just bought a sony fx240 analog camcorder and he is having a problem with it only recording in black and white. It will play a prerecorded color tape in color but only records in B/W.

Any suggestions?

He has tried different tapes etc.

It could be a loose ribbon cable connecting two of the boards or an IC with a bad connection (bad solder). Time to send it back to Sony.

We'll rip that unit apart and look for loose items

I just wanted to know if there was an obvious fix that I was too foolish to find
