Ohh on a different note, i am looking for computer monitors as well. I can not afford Sony monitors, i just want them to be 19" and flat, any suggestions there as well, i don't know anything about monitors just want the best value i can get. It will be used for video and photoshop work.

Some 19" computer monitors I see recommended:

Samsung 900NF, Sony G420, Viewsonic P95f, NEC Multisync FP955, and Iiyama Vision Master Pro 454

JVC makes some reasonably priced production monitors if you want to avoid Sony prices. Might want to check Ebay for used monitors too.

We've had good luck for years with Viewsonic computer monitors. They now have flat screen ones for under $300 at Best Buy. You wouldn't want to use a computer monitor to try to judge color on your video.

Would a cheap 14" regular TV suffice for color judgement? Or would you have us spend $500+ on a 'real' production monitor?

I wouldn't use a standard tv as a colour correction monitor. Reason is standard tvs 'colour' the image with it's own distintive attributes, and also the rez is not so great.

Production/broadcast monitors tend to be very nuetral, allowing you to get an unhindered assesment of the picture because it is tainted by standard tv's.

I use two NEC MultiSync FE991sb's They are 19" flat, and I believe use Trinitron tubes. They are super bright (in Super Bright mode:). The were the best value in a very good quality monitor I could find. Some were cheaper, but not as nice a colour.

I have a 27" Aamazing monitor (not a TV) as well, but it mostly gets used for video games.

i boought two 18.1" flat screen computer monitors HP :1815 (dvi and analog) for $600 a peice. ($1200)

I really like my Sony Wega KV20FV. There is a 14" available.
