yes in 4 channel 32bit mode you can run the main mic in stereo on ch 1 and 2 and the XLR's can pull in audio from a wireless or hard wire mic on to ch 3 and 4, monitoring is tricky as you need to hit the button on the side of the cam to switch and importing audio into your NLE can be tricky where in some cases you actually need to capture the audio a 2nd time. there are 3rd party capture aps (not sure about mac) that will capture in one pass, Scenealyzer comes to mind.
