The clever idea is to insert thousands of microscopic image sensors in-between the liquid crystal display cells in the screen. Each sensor captures its own small image, but software stitches these together to create a single, larger picture.

I read about it 1 to 2 months ago and I have a mixed feeling. Imagine putting this technology into an I-Pod. You’d see people all over the beach videotaping and taking pictures at people without anybody noticing; very intrusive. At least in the bright side for a desktop or a laptop you can see if anybody’s been using your computer and it would be like looking true a window when talking to someone over the net.

The basic photo through screen idea is relatively old, I use it for other purposes, but the technology used in this case, I don't know. If is fairly (relatively) easy to set this up to do this. Maybe I should not mention the easy way I have in my mind.
