Vanguard aluminum cases seem to be reletively inexpensive cases compared to those made exclusively for photography equipment. These sample cases are half the price or less and are sometimes "bundled" with new cameras in "kits."

Does anyone know which Vanguard case model number would fit the XL2? The GL1/2 and XL1/s fit in the VGP-13 (I have one) and many websites seem to indicate that the XL2 would also fit. But I don't think this is true. I think that these websites look at the general form of the XL2 and asssume it's the same as the XL1/s, when in reality, it's significantly larger.

So, any ideas?

DL,

I bought a DynaTran case from Amvona's eBay Web site. I think I paid less than $60 for the case (by bid) and my XL2 fits in it snugly. There is room for the viewfinder and mic + some other small items but not much more. I keep a 7.5" DVD player in mine that I use as a monitor.

They have these cases on their site for sale daily, so if you bid on one, don't think there is any urgency in getting a specific one. And just be aware of the shipping costs. Although I think Amvona is a great supplier, sometimes I think they make up a little on shipping.

I've also bought some softboxes, reflectors and tripods from their eBay site at very low prices and their customer service (I had some things damaged in shipment) was excellent.
