I just downloaded the Final Cut Pro 5.1.1 Update and was very excited until I opened it. No setup for 720/24P yet. Very disappointing considering we know they have a version that works.
View Full Version : Final Cut Pro Update: 5.1.1 - No 720/24P Steve Benner May 16th, 2006, 09:59 AM I just downloaded the Final Cut Pro 5.1.1 Update and was very excited until I opened it. Steve Benner May 16th, 2006, 03:57 PM How about 720p25? Nothing...I don't even know what was added? David Knaggs May 17th, 2006, 12:54 AM Hi Steve. When you said, "I just downloaded the Final Cut Pro 5.1.1 Update", did you mean a Final Cut STUDIO update? Because your post just made me check for an update (I have Final Cut Pro Version 5.0.4) and there was nothing. There was however a "Soundtrack Pro Presets Update Version 1.0" which I downloaded. I just want to make sure I'm not missing an actual update on Final Cut Pro (even if it's not the fix for 720p24). Nate Weaver May 17th, 2006, 01:53 AM You'll only be eligible for the 1.1 upgrade if you have 5.1 5.0.4 is a dead end... Paul Cascio May 17th, 2006, 02:16 AM Seems like a very unfair policy regarding upgrades. David Knaggs May 17th, 2006, 03:15 AM Thanks Nate. I originally followed the link given by Tim (on March 10th) to obtain the Universal Crossgrade and foolishly stopped when the Apple order form said "This offer is good only in the United States and Canada." But your advice prompted me to find the link I need and I'll also post it below just in case any other of this forum's FCP users in Australia or New Zealand haven't found it yet: http://www.apple.com/au/universal/crossgrade/ Steve Benner May 17th, 2006, 04:21 AM Thanks Nate. Dave Perry May 17th, 2006, 05:26 AM Seems like a very unfair policy regarding upgrades. A lot of people are whining about having to pay less than full price for a new version of FCP. If you have the stand alone version of FCP you can get the entire suite for less than the original price of FCP alone. Seems quite fair to me. Tim Dashwood May 17th, 2006, 06:59 AM So back to the priginal question: Does 5.1.1 support 720P24 or 720P25 mode on the HD100? I haven't had a chance to test it yet. Steve Benner May 17th, 2006, 07:43 AM So back to the priginal question: Does 5.1.1 support 720P24 or 720P25 mode on the HD100? I haven't had a chance to test it yet. There is no easy setup for it, so I would say no.
