Hello,

I had no replys on the xl1 forum, so, I'm trying over here.
I have two cameras a xl1s PAL version and NTSC sony pc-110.

Two questions on my mind...
First, can I use the sony NTSC camcorder as a deck? for capture.
I can watch the pal footage on the NTSC camcorder, but I don't know if I lose quality. And the captured footage, is PAL or NTSC?

Second, what will hapen if I'll conect the two camcorders with a DV cable and shoot through the xl? I want to use only the lcd of the sony NTSC camcorder, not a backup footage,(this will give me flexibility when shooting from a car) is it posible?

Thanks
Sassi

hmmm, interesting questions.
if you can watch footage on one camcorder and there isn't a noticable difference, I don't think you'll be losing any quality. However, if you capture PAL footage through a NTSCL camcorder, I'm guessing it'll still be PAL.

In terms of connecting them, I'm not sure but I'm guessing if one can play the footage from the other, it shouldn't have a problem with the DV stream from it, so I'd try it and see if it works.

Now all of the above are simply quesses/assumptions since I've never actually tried any of this, so just a heads up that it may not actually work or end up in the format I told you it would.
