Canon "considers" quitting film camera development
TOKYO (Reuters) - Japan's Canon Inc. said on Thursday that it would consider halting development of new film cameras as it focuses resources on digital models, the latest sign of the rapidly fading role of film in photography

I don't care as long as they don't discontinue their film scanners.

I read somewhere today that they are dropping their film camera line. I have to look for the link---I think it was on Yahoo news.

So, are their scanners any good? I snagged a Minolta Scan-Dual lV a while back. I'm sure I paid too much for it because I bought it from Toronto, Canada. They were selling for half of what I paid for it in the USA.

Maybe Cosina/Zeiss will start making Zeiss lenses for old Canon film cameras.
