I'm trying to get Windows XP to see my AG-DVX100 but I keep getting an error message that says the necessary drivers for the camera are unavailable. Does anybody know what I should do to get my system to see the hardware? I asked Panasonic, but all they told me was that I need 1394 drivers on my system, which I think I already have. (other cameras work fine on my system). Any links to drivers or instructions for resolving this problem would be greatly appreciated.

what 1394 card do you have ??
and what software are you using to capture ?
when you install a 1394 OHCI card Xp will install the drivers ... if you are using a non-ohci card then the drivers will be on the CD -rom that came with pci card.

Don-
I have: Texas Instruments OHCI Compliant IEEE 1394 host Controller. It seems to work fine with my firewire drive and other cameras. Device Manager gets to a point where it says it doesn't know what AV/C subunit is, looks for drivers, then says it can't find them.

If you plugin your camera, can you see what device class XP
is finding? (like digital camera, controller, ohci 1394 compliant
device. etc.)

does the 1394 have texas chip on it or are you just getting this info from XP saying it is a texas compliant ? there are some 1394 that do NOT use the texas chip and operating systems will try to install them under texas compliant.
you did say firewire drives work so lets assume that XP can see what you plug in ... so lets move to
what software do you use to capture ?
if you are attempting to use the microsoft software that comes with XP you might try a different program as when i tried the it this AM i couldn't get it to operate a camera/deck. using Vegas i can operate camera/deck for capture.
