Just wanted to see if anyone owns or has experience with any cheap on camera LED lights, such as these.

Sima for $30

Bescor for $50

I just need something really cheap, that I would only need as an emergency backup and these seem pretty useful for the price with the features I want.
i.e. uses AA batteries, long life (battery AND bulbs), daylight balanced, PRICE.
Let me know what you think. Thanks.

Sorry I'm late to this, hope it helps.

I did a complete trade show floor shoot with the 35.00 Sima LED from Best Buy. Needed something quick when I discovered wildly varied lighting conditions. Not the greatest light in the world, but it saved my bacon.

Ideally you'd like a camera light which, if LED white, allows you to pin on diffusion, or CTO Orange gel for warmer flesh tones. And allows you to *tilt* the light housing. This is why the Lowel ID light system is so great, but it cost about 250.00 new.

But I was pinched, and I did get a useable image wth the little lightweight Sima box. It stays in my kit, down near the bottom. ;-)

We've used the Sima light for shooting standups and interviews in bars, a less obtrusive light. A couple of pices of velcro on the sides and I was able to attach a small piece of diffusion gel or colored gell. In fact the little pieces in most gel 'swatch books' are an almost perfect fit on the cheapie little Sima. Definitely not the light you want to use day to day for a top lite, but a nifty little tool for the price to keep in the arsenal for those QRD or specialty shots. For the price, carry a couple of them LOL....

Cute tip, Bud!! I know I've got that swatch book somewhere... ;-)
