I've just acquired a Rode video mic and am having some trouble mounting it onto my camera.
The hot shoe mount fits onto my camera easily and securely. It looks like a screw is supposed to go through one of the holes in the bottom of the microphone mount, and then into the hotshoe mount - but there doesn't seem to be any thread inside the hole in the hotshoe mount which would receive the screw. With nothing to secure it, the microphone mount just sits on the hotshoe mount, and of course just falls off at the slightest motion.
If anyone could advise whether I have a faulty hotshoe mount, or whether I'm just doing something wrong, then I'd be very grateful.
Thanks in advance for your help,
Gary.
