Hi there,

Do the pre AI older "F" series Nikon lenses fit on the Letus nikon mount?

Cheers

It is always pathetic when someone has to answer one's own question.

Once I get the Letus for my HD100 I will go and test it out at a local camera shop to see if original pre AI lenses work and let everyone know the answer. The reason why this might be a good thing is that I noticed that quite a lot of these lenses seem to be quite "fast" lenses compared to more modern ones and pop up at reasonable prices with reasonable frequency.

My understanding is that they do work. AI are the ones with the little silver fork/rabbit ear things right behind the f-stop ring right? The nikon mount has been the same since 1959 I believe.

Confirming genuine old Nikons, 55mm f1.2, 85mm f1.8, 105mm f1.8, TAMRON 135MM F2.8 ALL WORK.

Thanks Bob. That is great news.

By the way, I have just got my camera yesterday and will give you a call so that we can catch up to test out your device.

All Nikkor lenses will work but do not use any DX (digital lenses). Also on any newer auto-focus Nikkor lens you can keep the aperture open by placing something in the groove to keep the lever back.
