Hi,

I was given a DVD made (the way it looks) with idvd. This is a question of pulling the information off the dvd to be left with a QT file. No.....I am not doing this illegally ! It is on the up and up. I thought that Mac the Ripper would be my solution, but I am still left with an Audio and Video TS folder. I need to get this video into a format for web posting.

Can anybody help ?

Jeff, there are a ton of DVD Rippers out there, just do a search on Goggle and look through what they have to offer. Most have different features that might or might not fit what you want to do. I have DV Filmmaker to transcode M2T files but it also does VOB files beautifully.

MPEG Streamclip. It can open the vob files off the dvd or the video_ts folders and then export it to any quicktime format you want.

Thanks for the replies.

I went with DVDxDVPro and it works great.

For future reference, you can do this all for free :)

MacTheRipper will give you VOBs. You can then convert these VOBs into (for example) H.264/AAC using ffmpegX, a freely available encoder based on the excellent mencoder/mplayer project.
