I just found this forum the othre day, and im lovin' it. Right now I am shoping for a nice cheap (around $1000) mini dv camera that will hold me over until I can get a more complet proffesional setup. Im just dying to shot SOMETHING. So if anyone has suggestions. I have been looking at the Canon Optura 200MC and the JVC GR-DV3000U but not sure yet.
THanks

I'd have a serious look at the panasonic DV852. With a leica lense, optical stabilizer, a 1/3.8" CCD it's a quality one CCD camera. Itcan be had for around $900.

The gems come and go and this year it seems to be panas turn for some solid stuff in the single CCD market.

Beware of cameras loaded with gimmicks that have no bearing on good video and stay with the big three, Canon, Sony and Pana
