I noticed on the new 250 there is no place to attach a wireless bracket to hold a receiver. Usually AB adds the attachment to its brackets, but I don't see it on the 250. Please correct and show me where if I am wrong.

There will be an optional bracket kit released soon that will add the piece with the screw holes, and the bracket itself.

Don't have a JVC (I have a Canon XL H1) but I use wireless receivers, Lectronic and Sony, constantly.. Personally, I prefer Velcro for a lot of reasons... and it's a buck at any hardware store...

It's sounds maybe off-topic. But I can't avoid always shaking my head if I see that all these simple metal gadgets are always sooooo 'video' over-priced as if they contain expensive electronics... While they are just simple bended and cut pieces of painted metal. Velcro works just as good for me holding both devices very compact and secure for 3 dollar.

I'll second that. I was going to use the IDX HD bracket on the back of my IDX battery plate for mounting wireless receivers - until I saw the price! £100 for a bit of metal!!!!!!!!!!!! I went to a DIY store and bought a metal plate, the correct screws for the IDX battery flange and a shed-load of velcro for £10. It works great and I can mount/un-mount 2 wireless receivers in seconds.

Sorry, but I compare it like I bought a bike shipped in a box. In all exitement you open the box and don't find the last piece... digging further in the box to find out there is no saddle included!? Oh no sir, you need to buy that extra if you want to sit on your bike.
The point I want to make is that this is not user frendly in my opinion. I thought how come my old phone beltclip is in this box? I was digging in the box further fur sure to find something better then that... At least I hoped to find a plastic clip to put it on the multi-purpose sleeve of the camera like you see on many advertisement photos.

The drive will mount on a bracket that positions it behind the battery, but not touching it. The bracket also gives you a nice place to hang a wireless mic receiver. The kit also comes with a power tap cable that allows you to power the drive from the IDX battery.

thanks for all your input to the forum, my question, or maybe request is that the JVC professional sites, where you have an accessories table as you've pointed to on this thread, that only a few items actually have hyperlinks showing and explaining more about the product.

It would be immensley helpful if they all were linked with a bit more indepth info on what the item looked like, and what it actually does for you. The new bracket would be a good case in point.

Also, other HD200 series users may point this out better, but the included Vwedge tripod adapter (KA-V100) x 1, is this the same as the KA-551U? Or do we need to fork about $500AUD to mount these babies on a tripod?

What I have usually done is put the part number in B&H, and I usually get the info. However, in some cases, it doesn't come up, and in other cases -- such as the bracket discussed nearby -- there is no picture. Links to full info on the accessories would be helpful and appreciated.

I use an MTO/Shooterslicker to hold my wireless receivers. It only costs $35.00 It's basically a saddlebag that fits over large camera batteries. The bag has velcro straps that attach to your camera's handle and around the battery. Below is a link from B&H.

It holds 2 receivers. It's great for run-and-gun shooting.

I jumped the gun when I said "very nice". It's nice that the product is out there....it would be really nice if there were some pictures. Any snaps out there?

I'd also like to see photos of the IDX rigs. What I find especially curious (painful!) is that the HWR-HD250KIT is so much more expensive than the 100KIT, and requires an additional part. Is this "base plate" the IDX battery mount plate I already purchased with my LE-HD250KIT ? A replacement with different fittings (already have the A/B plate on ice), or some additional modification to the whole rig (that the 100 series doesn't require!?)
I think there is a picture of one of Tim's rigs with this, but it diodn't answer the question. I'd prefer hard plates, but that $35 soft bag is looking real pretty to the wallet side of my brain.

I assume the v wedge you are talking about it is the front mounting section attached to the camera. This is designed to lock into the tripod plate (KA-551U ) which mounts to the tripod (or tripod QR). Yeah, it's a bummer.
I negotiated with my dealer for a break on the plate while buying the camera. It is included with the HD250, and on many tripods, not required for the HD100 series it seems. The good thing is that, unlike on the 100 series, it does have a rear lock and support. I never like the floating single point mount of the 100's.
I also checked to see if my old JVC DV500 plate would work, but ohhh noooo..., that would be too easy.
The plate did come with an additional front wedge plate, which I assume the 100 series needs to use it.
(anybody want that?).
You might find that someone with a 100 series camera bought a plate, and then found they don't need it. As I understand, if the tripod quick release plate has enough adjustment, it's redundant. 100 series owners would have to chip in to answer that one.

I guess i'll have to chuck another item onto the budget!
