Hey guys...because of the 'med-small' form factor of the Canon XH A1, I wanted a tidy way of mounting a FS4HD onto the Canon in the most compact way possible and no dangling cords....B&H has this mount which you can use with the FS4's for $20 and a retractable FW cable for $18...

which leaves you with a setup like this:

compact and under $40 total!

Sweet.

Only problem I see is noise from the Firestore if you are stuck with the last resort of using the on camera mic. Guess in that bad situation, you could always pop off the Firestore and mount it to the belt clip.

True. If you used a shotgun mic that problem would likely be gone.

The mounting kit for the XL-2 & XL-H2 is now available - at least I've been able to order one this morning in the Uk and am promised delivery next Monday. The kit includes the cradle, a 10-15 cm firewire cable and a mounting screw. It sits on the accessory mount so has a low profile.

Cheers

Chris

Pictures and source details/model #?

(think you meant the XL-H1 as there is no H2 yet)

Steve,

I am planning to acquire the FS4. How did you attach it to the Sennheiser CA2 Shoemount Adapter? It is not clear from the photos.
