we got hit with a pretty intense rain storm yesterday, but it left us some pretty cloud patterns this morning. here's some footage sped up about 2000%. unfortunately, i didn't have the graduated nd filter handy.

Pretty cool. What settings did you use?

24f, 1/48 shutter, 1/32 nd engaged, gamma cine2, black stretch (to try and capture a little more detail in the underexposed areas below the horizon), master pedestal -5, color matrix cine2, and bumped up the rgb gains to 9.

here's some footage sped up about 2000%.

Could you say more about how you got this time lapse effect -- is it all in post or is there also some camera function that contributed?

My old Canon GL2 (it's called XM2 here in Australia) had a time lapse feature on the camera. Does the XH A1 have this?

nothing special beyond speeding it up on the timeline. there is no interval recording on this camera like on the gl/xl cameras.

i replaced the h264 mov with a wmv to get a more accurate color rendition.

Thanks for posting that. Nice a moody looking.

Noticable CA on the extremes of frame, though...?

thanks alex. there looks like to be some CA, or something similar, on the far left and right sides, most prominently on the silhouette of the building on the left. considering the high contrast of the scene, it isn't as pronounced as i might have expected it to be.

Cool Henry, beautiful clouds. This would look a little better with a grad ND so the lower half of he image retained more information. Or even a circular polariser with cam ND set to 1/6.

Very clean timelapse though, images roll perfectly.
