I have a Canon EF 70-300 4-5.6 that I wanted to put on the front of my H1. The lens if fully auto. Does have maual zoom and focus but no iris ring. Does anyone know if I can maintain iris control through the Cam with this lens.
Thanks

Yes you can using the iris control on the camera. None of the EF lenses have an iris ring. You can simulate an auto iris by using the lock on the EF adapter, it's a bit noisy though with some lenses.

Thanks Sonny,
I did find out on the Canon site that it is listed as a compatible lens for the EF adapter. I'm just about to buy an EF adapter, and wanted to check first.

Hi Ken,
The simple answer is yes. With the camera set to "A" when you press the
button on the left hand side of the EF adaptor this will automatically set the
exposure.
With the camera set to "M" the iris and shutter controls will work as normal, just the same as when using the standard lens.
