Is there any Mac editing program that can handle the editing of 5 fps movies? I've tried with FCP but it only seems to accept standard frame rates of 24 and 30 fps.

I'm editing videos captured with Snapz Pro (screen capture software for Mac) recording at 5 fps for some online video tutorials. There seems nothing available to edit movies of slower frame rates.

It seems you can't. If you use the advanced tab of the video compressor, you can set the framerate to 'custom' then type in '5' for a value. But as soon as you exit the advanced tab, back to FCP sequence setup, it gives you a message that the framerate change was ignored. Kind of a bummer cause I thought I had found an answer for Ian, but no such luck.

I can't recall if older versions of FCP allowed custom frame rates, but I believe it may have. Unfortunately, none of my Macs are able to run OS9 so I can't test older FCP versions.

The slowest frame rate FCP seems to accept is 10fps. Good enough for me! Thanks for the link.
