About audio output from the camcorder; trying to understand how it is working if it is working ... Started to study the book.

Instruction book (English page 104, Swedish page 101) says: "Selecting the Audio Output of the RCA Terminals - Press the AUDIO MONITOR button."

Hey, isn't the AUDIO MONITOR button only controlling the output for the phones and to the level meters in the viewfinder??

Then: "Selecting the Audio Channels" ...MENU AUDIO SETUP. Select a setting option and close the menu.
Here we find:
"SEL AUDIO CH . CH1/3/CH2/4" can be changed to "CH1/3/CH1/3" or "CH2/4/CH2/4".

What is this setting controlling?
I hoped it could control the output to the FireWire to select two channels at a time for capture. But capture in FCP always seems to give me CH 1 & 2 regardless of the setting.

What is the secret which I havn't found? What are these controls for?

Where can I set channel 1/2 or channel 3/4 to route them into the FireWire output?

Help please! /Johan

Johan, it seems that it's a similar question in the XL2 forum. Take a look here:

I think the XL-series work in the same way, so you might find the answer there!

edit: found that you already did find the answer over there Johan!
