What is the best file format for green screen shoot? shooting with VHX200

If shooting standard-def, shoot DVCPRO50.

If shooting high-def, use 1080/24PA (unless you need the "reality" look, in which case I'd say go for 720/60p).

Thanks Barry, is there any problems with recording straight to the G5?

Why would file format be important when it comes to aquiring for green screen? This is something I didn't consider an issue before seeing this thread.

Why would file format be important when it comes to aquiring for green screen? This is something I didn't consider an issue before seeing this thread.If the compression format is poor, or the color subsampled, the chroma key results will suffer.

In general DVCPRO50 is better than DV for chroma keying, and DVCPRO HD is superior to HDV for chroma resolution. It's not magic though. You still need lighting, lighting and lighting...
