i was recently reading where Rodriguez was saying how he shot in HD for one of his movies and had that footage converted to film (Desperatos maybe?).

sorry if this is too basic of a question but how much can i expect to pay if i want my 20 minute short film converted to film so i can burn it on DVD? it was shot at 720/24pn. do i need an M2 adaptor or brevis for this?

here you can calculate the price if you want it to be done by dvfilm.com: http://www.dvfilm.com/calc/calc.htm

Some 35mm adapter would make your film much more like a film, so it would be good choise to shoot with one of those...

dam, a $20 minute film would come up to $9k....yeah i see what you mean. and at this website it quotes someone as saying it would only be $2 per minute if its shot in HD: http://www.redgiantsoftware.com/magicbulletfamily.html

would the adaptor just give it a very similar film look or would the footage have to be processed still?

35mm adapter gives you shallow DOF which makes picture similar to film. I dont know if its worth this money, i've never done it, but im planning to...

dvfilm.com sells some kind of book for how to shoot HD to be later projected on film. So i guess there must be spesific settings on camera to get good result...

Why would you want to convert something to film, just to then burn it onto DVD? Why not just render it directly out to DVD?
