Hi all

Just wondered if anyone has any idea if the Glidecam 2000 Pro would work with the HV10 since the HV10 is so small and light?

I have a friend who has offered me a Glidecam 2000 Pro (woo hoo!) and as I was already considering building "the $14 steadicam" though this might well be something better?

I'm sure you can use it with the Glidecam...just add some weight, like a Bogen Quick Release plate.

Still, it looks strange to support a tiny pocket cam on a Glidecam...

You should look for the old Hollywood Lite VS-1 Ultralite. Might like it a lot better.

I'm gonna get one of those. I didn't know these badboys existed! The videos at Glidecam really show how much smoother the videos are using it. I always hated the bounce I was getting in my videos, now that will be a thing of the past. (eventually, need to save up some $ first)

Now I know how those steady shots while running are made.

Hard decision between the GlideCam and the Hollywood Lite though. I kinda like the looks of the Hollywood better.

I actually made a nice little steadicam out of a bunch of old Mic stands I had laying around. Ill remember to get a picture of it at one of my shoots this weekend.

Do you have any pics of how you used the mic stand? I have a couple hanging aro9und to - one of which is pretty light.

I just put my HV10 on my Glidecam 2000. It does balance with minimal weight on the bottom, although I have a quick release plate on the top. With the lack of mass it does not seem to be as smooth it was with my GL2, but I really like how light and easy it is to hold. I will have to play with it some more and see if I just need to practice or add more weight on the top and bottom to make it more effective. My plan is to retire my GL2 and use the HV10 on the Glidecam as a 'B' camera along with my new A1 as the primary camera. It looks to be a good combination.

Update:
I just added two weights under the quick release plate at the top and rebalanced the Glidecam. This works very well! I am excited to have a camera that is so light and easy to use for my flying shots. Now I need to get a wide angle adapter for the camera and I will be set.

Maybe you can show me a steady video in HD resolution! :)

(The only thing: can you zoom slowly with the hv10? The zoom rock is so small for my finger. Even the hc1/hc3 has small zoom, but those cam have a LANC connector, and i can connect a zoom controller. unfortunatly the hv10 doesn't have lanc)

well the HV10 has a variable zoom speed function and the slowest is very slow

The HV10 also comes with a wireless remote which controls zoom, and you could hold/use it in your other hand. :)

Yes, but in this case i cannot zoom out slowly and panning the camera on a tripod. I want a semi-professional video, and the lanc zoom controller is a good thing for this.
The other side, the hv10 has better, sharper picture than hc3. I film in nature, lowlight issue is not a factor for me.
