View Full Version : Why does QT show video at different Gamma?

I didn't use to be this way. Something changed late last year. Normally, the QuickTime player shows my exported video the same as when I edit in FCP. Now QT shows it differently.

I gave up on the problem when recently I noticed that iDVD shows the video the same as FCP. Here's the same video side by side in QT and iDVD.

Aoother thing, if I go into properties in the QT player and change the Transparency setting on the video track to Composition, the QT player displays get darker...more like FCP and iDVD.

Any ideas?

It may explain quite a bit. Changing the gamma to "Approximate" lightened my canvas so it is the same as the QT player. Thanks
