View Full Version : HV10 as a deck - a few questions

I'm about to purchase two A1s and was planning to get the HV10 as a deck, but I have a couple of questions first.

1) Will the HV10 down convert through firewire real-time just like the A1? I plan to shoot in HD, and edit in SD, but I want to shoot the footage in HD and not down convert in post.

2) Right now I'm passing my SD output through my firewire cam to preview on my monitor, I'm assuming the HV10 will do this also?

3) Has anyone had any trouble capturing 24F footage shot with the A1 using the HV10?

4) I'm also considering using the HV10 for some B-Roll footage and combining it with some 24F from the A1, but I know the HV10 will NOT do 24F, so how well does the 60i stuff mix with 24F on the same timeline in FCP 5.1.2? Is there anything special I need to know?

Thanks a lot for the help here, the opinions of users on this forum have a big influence on what I do and do not purchase.... I'm never sure if that's a good thing or not :)
