View Full Version : Reducing echo

I'm editing a wedding reception at the moment in which there are a lot of toasts. They used a wireless mic hooked up to a speaker in the back of the room so there is a lot of echo. Most of what people say is audible, but sometimes it just gets lost in the echo. Now, I know the best solution would have been to hook a wild source up to the receiver, but since I didn't have that option is there a way to reduce echo in either Premiere or an audio program such as Cooledit?

Thanks in advance,
-Alex

here is a reply from douglas spotted eagle..

You can use Acoustic Mirror, which came with Sound Forge, to create an impulse of the 'bad sound' and apply it to the 'good sound' which will then cancel out a reasonable portion of the 'bad' sound.
