everyone seems to see things just a little different, what I am seeing in the mov clip is slightly sharper, althought someone could sharpen up an avi clip. I will be glad to share my picture profile settings if u you like.

This is a simple music video for the song "done" by the band "the LOYD", shot during a live concert, in just two takes, that's why there's not much to cut back and forth.

Director: Sérgio Barbosa.
Camera: Sony HVR-V1 in 1080i50.
Edited in Final Cut Pro.

Be sure to check out the band's website: www.theloyd.com

Small garden park on beachside in Ormond Beach, FL. Just wanted to shoot some tape in a nice setting.

About 11 minutes long, shot in 1080i and rendered to 720p per Vimeo standard's in Vegas. My gosh it looks good in 1080i on my dispay here at home, but I reckon this isnt' too bad for internet. First upload to Vimeo.

New camera, HG0862K lens and Manfrotto tripod, and I wasn't really taking my time with shot set ups, zooms and pans. Did about 30 minutes of tape in 40 minutes. It was the middle of the day in Florida, and HOT!

Darkened it up a little in post, as it was very bright and a little over exposed in the sunny areas, camera was in auto. I know a little more about the camera and it's settings now.

Learned a lot watching this for future shoots.

Great stuff Ralph, and very moving. I hope it gets picked up.

FYI, I get some inspiration from the clips you post. I'm planning some "nature" filming trips here in Florida. We have a lot of beatiful areas here too, but a little "flatter" terrain.

Thanks,

Jamie

Why so short? Did I miss something? The audio is distorted too.

Langston Sessoms
June 29th, 2008, 12:23 PM
it was a test clip. i probably should've said that. The audio is distorted because i was at a loud ass concert and was way too close to the speakers. that s song was definitely playing louder than some of the other stuff i recorded.

Here is a video I put together that is comprised of all slider shots. It was my first real outing with my homemade slider, and was meant to just get out and get a feel for how to use it and also find it's potential. Nothing super amazing here... but I am pleased with how it all turned out and just wanted to share it.

I think it leaves the Bowers Museum around Oct 12, not sure where it goes from there, you might check the Bowers Museum website, they may have schedule. I know it goes to the Smithsonian, its quite amazing to see, we were just getting set up and in came the pubic, very crowded, we should have shot at a different time, our video was for an upcoming TV show on public tv

A Sam Hendi Film

'Envy'

Starring

Sarah Morrison
Marcia Finnie
Shahram Shayesteh

Envy is a short documentary-styled piece of cinema that deals with relationships and jealousy between friends. The film is structured as a narrative interview by two female friends who discuss their feelings and love towards the same man. As viewers, we are captivated by the characters stories that unravel their dark secrets and desires that leave them both puzzled in a twisted climatic ending.

Trunk: Short Horror Film

Starring Jessica Edwards and Kerry Stanley

Filmed with a Sony HVR-V1E Camera and Letus35 Extreme Adapter. 28mm and 50mm Nikon Lenses.

Also using a Proam DVC250 Camera Crane and a Glideshot Dolly Track.

My first time using my Letus35 Extreme, and Camera Crane and Dolly Track

Unfortunately, my dolly track shots are shakey because my tripod is too light to hold my camera however, i have a new tripod which now gives me smooth shots which can take the weight of my camera. My crane shots were also shakey because my camera was too heavy and i need to place heavier weights on the end which i havent bought yet. I also need a new mic since im using my camera mic and it gives me quite a 'flat' sound.

I did nearly all of the videography, when I was playing guitar the camera was fixed on a tripod, and two hand held takes were done by the singer.

Just daylight no extra lighting, standard lens, 108050i HDV, edited and color corrected with Final Cut.

A film by Sergio Barbosa.
This short film is based on the scene "Cell Block Tango" from the Oscar-winning film "Chicago". I love that film and this is my homage to it. The original scene talks about six women who are in jail for killing their husbands, and their motives.
The language of the film is Portuguese, though I added English subtitles, so almost everyone can understand it.
This is my entry for the contest: Bloomfest 3.

Shot on the HVR-V1 in 1080p25, natural light only (there was no electricity on the set...)
Edited in Final Cut Studio.

Enjoyed Newport Beach Hugh, thank you. Made me feel like I've been there, which I have not. Never been to USA!!

I was thinking about the gulls that rested with great contentment on the beach. Have you any tiny clips of those gulls in flight, taken with V1, please?

some shots of some film i did around the new forest for anyone thinking of purchasing a fx-7.i dont have a web site at the moment sorry i know megaupload can be a pain but its all i can use for now
MEGAUPLOAD - The leading online storage and file delivery service (http://www.megaupload.com/?d=04OOJOVR)

on another point i have used a rode stereo mike with my fx-7 and found it great far better than the on board and the volume setting never needed adjusting till last week when i filmed a village fair i always film, most was ok exept for brass and bag pipe bands, the resulting sound was terrible even reducing volume in pc crazed etc clearly i should have reduced the sound level.although last year filming with my hc-1 and a ecm-hqp1 mike the sound was great without altering the volume.below is a clip of the fair with rubbish sound clearly i must reduce volume for bands like this am i correct.chris

Thanks for posting these, Chris. They were both helpful to me in evaluating the picture quality of the FX7. I'm seriously considering getting one myself. The visual quality of both of the clips is excellent. The first clip looks like documentary footage that you might see on TV. The second is also good too, but I agree the sound needs work!

Got a short clip of some FX7 footage posted to Vimeo: Sony FX7 Test Footage on Vimeo (http://www.vimeo.com/5195178)
Still trying to figure out a way to get rid of the 'tv-look' of the image, though. I figured exporting 1080i to 720p in Sony Vegas would do the trick.

I'm impressed with the quality of the picture the FX7 produces, even if it looks like standard HDTV.

Tom Hardwick

even if it looks like standard HDTV.

There's standard definition and high definition and now Steve wants us to believe there's standard high definition. :-))

I think what I meant to say was that 'standard HDTV' (i.e. without progressive modes) looks like video, while the look I'm trying to accomplish using a 1080i camera and post-processing would be more film-like and less like video.
