Hi,
today I to checked something about the sharpness because it was in an earlier thread and makes me curious about it. I made the test with my MX300.
I used 120 x digital zoom and took aim to a branch of a tree in my garden. The backfround was the sky. Then I opened the menu were I could set the sharpness. Now I could see 'online' how the edges and seams were changed by contrast. Also the changing of the grain could be seen exactly. I noticed a very small enhancement when the sharpness was set to the lowest value.
May be that the digital zoom is good to check other properties of the picture. Yes it is like a strong magnifying glass.
