Hello all.

As I have been told it can be difficult to see the focus in the small viewfinder, are there any bolts on, apart from an external monitor you can use? I shoot a lot of live events and shoot up front near the stage. Is thereany other way to get a better view?

such as a mini screen that can be bolted on? does canon do any extras like this? What other extras should i looking at for this camera?

I have the usual shotgun mic, manfrotto tripod, boom pole ect.

Any other extras i should get?

I would like to get a mini crane and tracks but not sure whre and how much (uk) any advice very appreciated.

Hi Andy,

I am not sure about mini screens but for mini cranes tracks etc try
www.b-hague.co.uk they are reasonably priced.

Brilliant thanks for the link, they have cranes and tracks. They also seem to have 7" monitors, can these be hooked up to the camera so i can run and gun?

Im tld you cant 'push focus' while shooting with this camera, is that correct? as in on the z1 i shoot up close then move out further, and push the 'push focus' button and it automatically focuses at that distance.

Cant we do this on the canon? or is it just manual (no problem for me) IF i can see properly hence the mini monitor i wanted on the camera.

I'm now using a combination of my Fu-1000 monochrome viewfinder that I used on my XL2, and a Swit hi res monitor that I bought from Varizoom. It's an expensive set up, and the FU 1000 DRAINS batteries, but it really lets me see what's going on. It's a great focus system. And as Steve Rosen suggested, leave peaking on.

marshall makes plenty of monitors, they are a standard in the industry.

How about saving a few bucks and going with a sd monitor via component? True no HD, and perhaps not great to use for focusing, but the color would be there.
