Hi all
I am very new here and very new to video. I worked for years in television and motion pictues, including owning a small speciality lab that did pan and scan reductions, nitrate film restoration and 3 stripe protection masters. I attended the Contract Services Administration's 1 year school on being a camera operator and filmed Indy car races for the car owners and sponsors.

I have done editing and color timing with film, but never with video. So...please be patient with me.

I have a number of personal projects that I intend to get started on. I already have 3 story boards completed and have been spending my winter (although its hard to call what we have had this year "winter") fleshing out the scripts and getting some people together to be my cast and crew.

I have a Panasonic PV GS15 camera, and Adobe Premiere Pro running on my computer that I have tweaked to more easily run such programs.

I also spent a number of years as a commercial photographer/art director, working mainly designing album covers for rock groups. During that time my "day" job was managing one of the largest custom "type R" photography labs in the U.S.

Well, video is nothing like film, from what I gather, but my film experience is limited to Super 8mm from, oh, a few eons ago...

My guess is that it's more about workflow than the particulars, though. You probably have a good understanding of flow, so adapting to a different medium won't be that hard...

I guess the most obvious difference is that you cant see through video tape! Or at least if you can, you need to buy more tape!
I am really looking forward to getting into all this and learning about tape and editing tape.
