And avoid the shotgun at all costs... unless you like selling crap on ebay.

Sorry what i meant was i use XLR input stright from the mixer and also a shotgun mic on the other line. I get good result with it but like i said the wire becomes a hassel with so many ppl in the venue.

if you have a wireless system with a plugin transmitter you can either plug it right into th esound board (watch the levels closely AND wear a good set of headphones-sometimes it won't show clipping on the meters in the camera but the transmitter might be getting pounded and you won't know it until it's too late) the other option is take the same plugin transmitter put it on another shotgun and place it a couple of feet out from one of the speakers. Again watch and listen carefully.
All of this assumes that you have a wireless with a plugin transmitter.

You're going from line levels to a mic input on your camera. You might want to put an attenuator between the mixer and your camera input otherwise the audio might be to hot resulting in horrible sound.

Yes, I forgot to mention that. When I plug into a DJs board I most often go into the tapeout RCAs and I ALWAYS put a 10db attenuator on my xmitter. If you don't there's a beeter than good chance you will wish you did
