Is there a usb or firewire adaptor that will let me plug in my coles xlr lip mic for voiceovers. i want to skip using the camera and just plug it in direct. Is this possible. If so what can I use?

Presonus also makes little device called the Firebox (or Firepod or something) that seems like a reasonable unit for the price. Andy Mees March 2nd, 2007, 11:48 AM the Presonus Firebox unit is a nice firewire preamp, SoundDevices do a nice usb preamp called USBPre but i think you might even consider these too: http://www.griffintechnology.com/products/garagebandcables/ http://www.soundtech.com/lightsnake/xlr10.asp probably get a better price if you search around online alos consider the macmice micplug (discontinued, but still available online) Phil Bloom March 2nd, 2007, 12:03 PM the main problem is the impedence level of 300 ohms. Very low for a lot of adaptors. Will any xlr usb/firewire adaptors work with this? Andy Mees March 2nd, 2007, 09:52 PM we use the USBPre box, it works very well. we also tend to just use a Shure field mixer |
