Maybe you already now this trick but I am using it to edit my 720 50p footage in FCP. First you have to capture your footage with dvhscap en convert it with MPEGstramclip to the code you like. I'm using AIC.
In FCP import your footage and right (control) click on it and select Make Multi clip Sequence and click Ok.
FCP made a new new sequence with all the right settings for editing 720 50p!
You can delete the Multiclip Sequence bin.
I saw this trick on Shane Ross's site there is also a tutorial movie (http://www.proapptips.com/proapptipsvideotutorials/194F4DC2-ACBB-4DD6-A1D0-F46D7D8DCAFC/53B46BA3-E23E-4ACD-888F-1E931224596B.html) on his site!

There's an even easier way to capture AIC that definitely works for 720P60 (and 720P30.)
Set your capture preset in FCP5.1.x to HDV-Apple Intermediate Codec. Audio sync is even maintained for 720P60.
No m2t capture and convert to AIC necessary... it all happens within FCP in real-time. No TC is recorded though. I've tested this with a HD250...haven't tested 720P50 yet, but I doubt it works.

confirmed, to 720 50p works perfectly. I have to say that codec AIC has improved much in his completes version.
The procedure that I use is from focus Dr-hd100 in way dv i/o captures the material from fcp with aic codec, applies make secuence multiclip and everything works perfectly.
thanks for the information. greetings.

I also use the DR-HD100 but it records 720p50 using m2t, so I need to convert it to a QT movie (AIC)... I wonder when focus solves the problem for the 200/250?

I went to the FE site after I posted in this thread and saw it.
I posted it here (http://www.dvinfo.net/conf/showthread.php?t=82207&page=2).
Thanks anyway!
