Hey guys and gals,

I recently bought my Camera and decided to take it out for some footage. I do freelance work for the NO/OKC Hornets and they let me shoot some footage.

Here it is. I'm still tweaking my compression/web loading settings, so any feedback you can give me on how fast it loads, how it plays, thoughts on color, gamma, ets would be greatly appreciated.

And Yes, there is footage of the Honeybees (Hornets Cheerleaders) on there.

Thanks <><

Wow... that's some quality footage.

I prefer DivX compression over any MPEG codec... the file will be just as small with a much cleaner image. But it takes a long time to convert it.

Great footage! - I never could figure out how those mascots could fly and dunk in those outfits??

I know. And the Hornets Mascot is 42 years old. Simply Amazing.

I actually prefer going with the quicktime files. They have been the best I have seen. I know you can get some amazing quality out of it. The Apple Trailers are excellent quality.

How long is it taking to load for you guys?

Byron,

Great stuff there. It loaded quick for me on my 8Mbps connection, so no complaints on that issue. I only have one negative comment about your footage --- Needs more cheerleaders! :) Good stuff though, I always have trouble shooting indoor sporting events and whatnot, the light conditions always throw me for a loop. Probably because I don't do it very often.

Thanks guys! Do you think I need to up the saturation before I compress? I think the frame rate looks decent enough, maybe a tad more brigtness mixed in with some contrast?

Thanks!

Sure... Buy an HVX200.

It was simply 720p at 60 frames a second. The variable frame rate really comes in handy.

Thanks Bryon,

Some nice shots in there, but I think the presentationshots were too dark. I guess that's the limit for HVX without gain.

This might take a little while to load. I've moved the file over to my website and am having to rework a couple of the files to get them to load better!

I just closed down the other File this morning. Sorry!

Hey, Great! This link, above, worked for me. Really thought the soundtrack was great too. Always impressive to me to see what a good soundtrack can do for a video.

Although, yea, I guess it was pretty dark but I like dark so it was ok with me; but I wonder what can be done about that.

I recently found this link, at: http://www.48.tv/bin/index.cfm and it featured five short video all filmed with the HVX200 for an annual competition called: 'The 48 hour film project,' where folks are given a character, one prop, one line of dialogue they have to use and put together a short video in 48 hours.

It was great to see what people could do with the HVX. The winner had a Very Bright (and very well done) entry. The runner up had an amazing use of green screen.

For my budget I don't think I could do better than the HVX200. Planning to buy in May. Wondering if anything new will come out of NAB in April, besides the HVX500. HVX500 also sounds like a winner but I'd have to rob a bank.

Humm...Or maybe I could go a week early to Las Vegas and put my $5K down on the Suns whipping the Hornets butt on April 6th --- but, well, what would be the odds on that NOT happening [ha].

The slo-mo was fab. If you could get some slo-mo of Nash passing to Stoudemire, though, I'm sure it would be better.

yeah yeah yeah....

I do like the Hornets. They have definately been good for my wallet, but I think you are right on the Suns/Hornets matchup. For the introductions. The Lights were completely off in the entirre arena, so I think the footage came out well, for what was there. I could have iris up a little bit on some of the other shots, but it WAS my first time to take the camera out, so I'll chalk that up to experience!

Thanks for the comment!
