I'm new here and just have a quick question.
I have a 110u.
I use warm cards and a circular polarizer.

Question:

For nature stock footage filmed in 1080i, what fps and shutter speed would you recommend.

This is for stock nature videography such as deer, birds, so on.

The reason I ask is looking at the best possible useage for editing, ie: slow motion, best colors, the "national geographic" look, what would the best method to sell be?

HD 1080i 60fps?

I need a standard that customers will know that I use.

The JVC HD110 does not shoot in 1080 anything - it shoots 720p and in order to shoot 60fps you must shoot in SD (480)

To shoot in720-60p for good slomo you must have the 200 or 250 series camera.

To try to lead you to a reasonable way to shoot what you're going to shoot I would shoot 720p30p and not use 24p as it would probably be to stuttery for nature type work.

The "National Geographic" or "BBC" look would suggest film - typically Super-16. If that's what you want I would suggest 720P24 at 1/48th shutter.
IF you want slow-motion at 24P, then you might consider an HD200 or HD250 and shoot 720P60 (@ 1/120 shutter or 180 degrees.)

although footage can be upscaled to 1080i quite easily - and with great results

I have a hd110u which clearly has a setting for 1080i on it.
Maybe I can take a picture of it.

Dave, your probably referring to a menu option that allows you to send out a 1080i signal from the component out, during playback. Being that it's upscaling the recorded signal, onto 1080i.
If you check the recording modes you'll see that only standard definiton and 720p modes are availiable.

Okay yes, I see that now, only 47 and going blind. It happens I guess.
