okies, heres a wierd one..

my zoom rocker on my DVX100a is playing up...
my old 100 is still perfectly fine though...

when i tighten the shot (zoom in) , it works, but if i widen for a reveal (pull out) and im going rather slow, its now started to "jerk" as if the signal from the rocker to the lens is being cut somehow.

i dont use this camera for any other purpose other than to shoot and i hav heard of one instance where someones firewire connection was fault, then "rectified itself" only to nuke the electronic zoom control

any thoughts or ideas on this?
I not happy considering the camera has only done 400odd hours (and thats ONLY recording.. )

One thing i have noticed is that the 100a is nowhere near as robust as the old 100.. i get dust and crap all over and inside the lens, ive had to remove the dopter to clean it whereas withthe 100 i have not had ANY issues whatsoever...

in fact im quite appalled at the workamanship of the 100a, as thi is in fact my second unit.. my first one was replaced because the OIS was failing and the lens itself was horribly distorting at the wide end.. i could go on...

BUT i jsut want to know if anyoen has had issues with the zoom rocker and what they did to fix it?

Thank god for that. I suspect you got some hours on it; I'd send it in.

Peter,
Does it do this with the fixed zoom control on the handle in slow speed as well? I thought my 100A was having a slight stutter problem on a shoot using the side servo control, so I ran the lens in and out a couple of times using the speed settings on the top handle zoom control. That seemed to correct the perceived stutter with the side servo.
Might be worth a try.
Hope this helps.
